Want To Cook Your Own Food At A Restaurant?

It’s my birthday! It’s a signature birthday but I’m still not going to tell you how old I am. Anyhow, for my past birthdays, I’ve been to some interesting and exciting places to eat. For my 21st birthday, I went to a really fancy and ornate Chinese restaurant in Spain. Imagine speaking Spanish to a group of Chinese people!  Anyway, in the past, I sat on cushy stools in an array of Moroccan ‘teterias’ (tea rooms) of Granada, ate at curbside cafes in Andalusia and bread shops in Paris and I even ate on the floor in Okinawa, Japan.

In all of my travels, I must say the most interesting place I have eaten was in my own back yard, the Melting Pot. It’s a unique fondue restaurant that offers “dining with an experience.” I say, “experience” because you have to cook your own food. Like most of you, I go to a restaurant to get out of cooking. So, going to a restaurant to cook my own food is a bit unconventional and it’s also not your average steak and potatoes place, but it’s a great place to dine. Trust me on this one.

The Melting Pot is totally and solely fondue. EVERYTHING is fondue. You may be wondering how anyone can get a full meal with fondue. Don’t be mistaken. Afterwards, you would’ve had enough food to last you for a while. For starters, you’ll have a choice of various cheese fondues to dip your bread, apples and vegetables. Then, you’ll pick your cooking style for your main entree.  And, finally you’ll choose your chocolate fondue to enjoy your strawberries, cheesecake, pound cake, red velvet cake,  rice krispies and graham-covered and Oreo-covered marshmallows. Indeed it’s an experience but you’d probably like it.

And, the best part is you don’t have to travel across the ocean to get good fondue… It’s right here in our backyard! Unless, of course,  you want to travel abroad for some fondue, It may not be a bad idea, since fondue originated in Europe. To give you a heads up, I’m throwing around the idea of taking my taste buds on a little world tour. I’m thinking about taking a foreign food cooking class and learn how to make specialty dishes from all over the world. I’m excited about this experience. And, I can bring you along with me for the ride. I would love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment below and pass it along to your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Take care for now…..

Hugs,
